The Star of Bethlehem

Tonight was the 3rd Ward Christmas party. There was dinner followed by a program in which Jesse was supposed to be an angel.

When the primary kids started their program, Jesse was no where to be found. We knew he was still with the kids because he wasn't with us. When it came time for the Star of Bethlehem to come out, there was Jesse. He loved the attention and was definitely the star of the show! The costume itched him a little bit, and his arms got a little tired from time to time and he had to stretch them, but he did a great job!

Why I hate snow

1. It's cold

2. It's cold

3. It's cold

4. It causes you to get stuck places you don't want to be

5. It's cold

6. It's cold

7. It's cold

8. It leaves ice behind and this causes you to have to walk with caution ANYWHERE you want to go.

A beautiful tribute to a beautiful woman

On Friday, we held a graveside service for my aunt who recently lost her battle with cancer. The service was beautiful and both of her daughters gave wonderful tributes to their mother. It was a very sad day for our family. We will miss her greatly, but know that we will see her again and that she is no longer suffering. We love you Aunt Marilee!

Well, the reception is now over and I have to say it's quite a relief. We had a great time and it was a lot of fun. I'm really happy for Jenn, Chris, and Ty. I know they will have a great life together and I have to say thanks for letting me be a part of everything. Love you guys!
Below are some pictures from the reception in Fillmore.

Tagged again (this time with a picture!)

The rules of the tag are to pick the 4th file in your photos and then the 4th picture in that file and then talk about it. At the end of the tag......make sure to tag 4 people.

This is my darling niece, Halle. She had been playing on her brother's Spiderman "whip and whide" (slip and slide for those who don't speak 2-year-old). She has always smiled this strange little smile, but we love her to death. She's our little princess for sure!

I tag: Jill, Danielle, Kim, and anyone else that hasn't already done this one....

State Fair (a little late, but pics are included!)

So, my family came to Salt Lake about 3 weeks ago and we went to the State Fair. Jesse and Halle like seeing all the animals and they LOVE to ride the ponies. Their dad bought them a Spiderman and unicorn blow up toy but Jesse wasn't happy because he wanted the one that was 6 times the size of him. That child always wants more than anyone else gets. Halle was just happy with her "horse".

No NFL Kickoff weekend for me....

So I signed up for DirecTV through Qwest at my new house as Comcast does not offer service on the block where I live. The installation appointment was scheduled for today between 8:00 a,m. and 12:00 p.m. I leave work early to go home to wait for Mr. Installer and guess what? HE WENT TO THE WRONG ADDRESS!!! Instead of calling my cell phone as instructed when I placed my order, they called my work phone and left a message. I'm obviously not at work as I am home sitting on my couch waiting for him to come to my HOUSE!!! I checked my voicemail messages from my cell phone and got the message that he had knocked on the door and no one answered. Really?! I'm sitting right there looking out the window for 3 hours and not ONE PERSON came up my stairs! He must be invisible or something. I call the lady at Ironwood Communications back and she tells me that they can reschedule the appointment for September 9th. THAT'S NEXT TUESDAY! I said some very mean things about her company and their service and then I hung up and called DirecTV to let them know how bad these people suck. The lady at DirecTV was very nice but wasn't able to help me out. The 9th is the soonest we can have cable. I guess I get to watch my Redskins with the rabbit ears that Jana has. At least that's an option. Otherwise, I would be at the bar by myself with my Sean Taylor jersey on. Go SKINS!

Finally moved in!

We got all of our stuff moved in on Saturday. Thanks to my dad and brother for lifting the heavy stuff and to my mom and sister-in-law for their help as well! We have been trying to get everything put away and it's taking forever because we get easily distracted. We have all of our living room furniture put where we want it and most of our kitchen is put away. The last and hardest thing is getting the stuff in our rooms put where we want it. That's going to take some time, but we will get it done soon.

Boxes, boxes, EVERYWHERE!

I am in the process of packing up my apartment to move about 15 miles north of where I am now. This is the view from my bed:

Not a good sight if you need to get from the bed to, well, anywhere else! These will be gone in less than 48 hours so I guess it's something I can deal with them until then! Yay for moving!!

10 long years ago....

10 years ago, I had just graduated high school and thought I was sooo ready to get out of Fillmore and never look back! We had our 10 year reunion this last weekend and it's so hard to imagine how I EVER thought at 17 that I was ready for the real world! Here are some pictures from my glory days in high school, followed by a few pics from our reunion this past weekend.

Family Reunion Time!!

This Saturday, we had a family reunion for my dad's immediate family. There are only 4 kids in his family, but it seems as we have all gotten older, we don't see each other very often. Everyone was able to come and we had a good time. I got to see a cousin that I haven't seen in over 3 years! There are 9 grandkids and 7 great-grandkids in all. Here are some pictures from the big event.

L to R: Front Row: Brandon, Sandy, Austin, Jesse, Brynlee, TJ, Cindy, Heagan, Bowdy

Back Row: Steven Halle (sideways), Marilee, Alisca, Josh, Ashley, Ben, Boston, Shea, Kristen, Mark, and Matt

Boston had so much fun playing in the rocks

Brynlee and Jesse did water balloons for a while, but these bottles were more fun for some reason!

Even Ben and Josh got in on the swing action.

My early birthday celebration

Since I will be on my way to Las Vegas on my birthday, my family and I celebrated a few days early. My very talented sister-in-law made me this cute cake!

My dad found these fun "sparkler candles" for my cake. The kids thought they were great (even though they look scared - they really did like them!)

The kids parade

So, the annual 4th of July in Fillmore also has a kids parade which Jesse and Halle were THRILLED to be a part of. We decorated Halle's trike and Jesse's John Deere tractor with their red, white, and blue decor and headed to the park. Halfway through the parade, Halle got tired and decided to get off and push her bike. Grandpa Weston had to convince her to get back on so that she didn't hold up the other kids. It was a fun parade...Halle on her trike
Jesse and his tractor

They got free hot dogs for participating in the parade. That made Jesse's day!
