Saying goodbye to an important piece of our childhood

After Grandma passed away, we decided to sell her house since no one in the family needed it. Vance took some time off work and did a lot of the repairs himself. We spent many days cleaning and painting the whole house getting it ready to be sold. Right before Thanksgiving, the house sold and it was a bittersweet moment (for me at least). I know it's not Grandma & Grandpa's house anymore, but I still catch myself looking down the street to see if anyone is visiting Grandma. My mom took some pictures of the outside so we could remember what it looked like.

The "service porch" - There used to be this giant bush where Halle is standing and we would swing on the railing and try not to get scratched by the bush :)
The fireplace was a fun place to play when we were little. I cut my hand pretty bad on a coal bin that used to be right next to it when I was about 6.

This tree would shed it's bark every fall and we spend plenty of time "helping" that process along. It also had these balls that fell out of it and if you broke them open, you would itch for hours. There were a pair of nunchucks in the branches for years. I'm still not 100% sure how they got there but I do know they are gone now.
We spent MANY hours of our lives at Grandma Sade & Grandpa Gunner's house. Lots of memories were created here (including the time our parents left all of the grandkids with grandma and grandpa and we were naughty so grandma made us all sit in a different corner and read the boring Presidents of the US books). I had a sign made for Grandma several years ago that said: "Grandma's House - where cousins go to become friends". That is definitely true for our family. We spent every holiday at this house and we grew closer as a family. We miss Grandpa and Grandma terribly but know that another family is making memories in this house now.
