R.I.P. to my hero, Sean Taylor

It's been a rough week this week. When I got to work on Monday, a friend of mine called to tell me that he heard on ESPN radio that Sean Taylor had been shot. I immediately got online
to try and find out more information. I soon learned the details: someone had broken into Sean's home in Miami and shot him in the leg. His fiance and 18 month old daughter were in the room where he was shot. Sean underwent emergency surgery to repair the femoral artery, but he passed away early Tuesday morning. I was in total shock when I heard he was gone. Since I was in college, Andrew and I have followed Sean Taylor's career very closely. He soon became one of my heroes. He was a good man and an AMAZING football player. I am mourning his loss along with thousands of other Redskins fans. It was so sudden that it is a total shock and I know that we are all praying for his family and expecially his daughter who will never know her daddy. Sean, you were an amazing person and I guess God needed a Safety for an Angel. If that was the case, he got the best Safety in the game. You will be missed and your fans and teammates will never forget you!

The wonder that is myspace

Every time I turn around, I have a new friend request on myspace. Generally these are people I either don't know or don't want to know anything about me. Every once in a while, though, I will get a blast from the past and have the opportunity to hook up with an old friend. That happened to me TWICE today. I found one of my best friends from college that I have been desparate to get in touch with for years but have been unable to find him. I am so happy to see him and see his cute little family. They are all doing so well. The other surprise I got was from my best friend's girlfriend. I thought for sure that we weren't friends anymore because she had deleted me from her myspace page but it turns out that she still likes me (yay). All in all, myspace has helped me get back in touch with some of the people who were most important to me. Thanks Tom!

The Bachelor is a crock

I didn't watch the Bachelor this season because it happened to interfere with Monday Night Football. I did, however, watch the finale last night. WTF is up with him telling the last girl that he really cared about her and had all these deep feelings for her and then telling her that he could never love her? What an insensitive jerk! To some extent I suppose it's better that he didn't give someone a ring and not have true feelings or good intentions, but if that was his plan all along, why did he even do the show? I may or may not watch the next season based on what happened this time.....Way to go ABC!

Catching cold is a bitch

I am home from work sick today. It's nice to have a break from work but of course it had to come on a week where we only have to work 3 days anyway. I wish it was a day off where I could do anything I want to but since I don't feel good, I get to sit home and be miserable. Plus, I don't want to be home with my know-it-all roommate but that's the situation. I have decided to self-trat this cold this time and not go to the doctor just to have them tell me that I have a cold (I had already gathered that much from the sore throat and coughing). I have to work tomorrow. Can't afford to be off another day so hopefully I feel tons better by then.

Jesse & Halle's birthday

Little People are a staple of life for these two. Jesse got a Pirate Ship and Halle got a princess castle. She thinks she can live inside it and is pretty fun to watch playing "make believe". I love these kids so much!
